Our Residential Home Line service gives you a traditional landline-style phone connection, but delivered over modern Voice over IP (VoIP) technology. It’s perfect for households that still want the reliability and familiarity of a home phone, whether for everyday use, staying in touch with family, or as a backup communication option. You can bundle it with your CloudLink internet connection for added convenience or purchase it as a standalone service — no Internet plan required. You get all the features you’d expect from a standard home line, like voicemail, call waiting, caller ID, and more, but without the high cost of old-school phone lines. This service supports one channel — you can make or receive one call at once.
Because it runs over your Internet connection, setup is simple — though depending on your existing setup, you may need a VoIP-compatible phone or a telephone adapter to connect traditional handsets. Once installed, it works just like a normal phone line — same dial tone, same number portability, just much better value. It’s a great option for anyone wanting to keep a home phone line without relying on outdated analogue lines.
¹ If you require a telephone adapter, we can supply these for $10 per month. The hardware remains the property of CloudLink.
² Number Transfers from another provider will incur a one-off setup fee of $25.
³ There are no term commitments on any of our phone plans. We simply need 30 days' notice if you wish to cancel or change your plan.
Important information regarding Emergency Services (111 Contact Code)
Our Residential Home Line service provides access to emergency services via 111. However, there are important differences from traditional landlines you should be aware of. The key points are:
- Your service requires power and an active internet connection to work
- During power outages, you will not be able to call 111 unless you have backup power
If you or someone in your household has specific health, safety, or accessibility needs, you may qualify as a Vulnerable Consumer under the 111 Contact Code. If you rely on your phone for medical alarms, have a disability, or face other circumstances that make reliable 111 access critical, we can provide additional protections at no extra cost. Download the 111 Contact Code Application Form (PDF) or contact us to discuss your needs.
